⚠️ Fraud Alert: Phone Number Spoofing & Text Phishing | Security Bank
Thursday, April 30, 2026 - News
Be extra cautious. There is an uptick in scammers spoofing bank phone numbers and impersonating your bank.
We have recently received reports of fraudulent phone calls and text messages claiming there are suspicious ACH transactions or unusual account activity. In some cases, scammers may reference real bank locations, employee names, or send text messages during the call to appear legitimate.
If you receive a call, text or email from someone claiming to be a bank employee and they ask you to:
Click a link
Reply to a text message
Verify personal and/or account information
Share login credentials or security codes
Approve or cancel account access
Call a number they provide to you
Hang up immediately and contact your banker directly using a trusted phone number.
We will never ask you to share or confirm:
Online banking usernames or passwords
PINs or one-time security codes
Debit card numbers or full account information through unsolicited calls or texts
Stay Alert. Stay Protected.
Do not click suspicious links or attachments
Do not respond to unexpected text messages requesting account action
Verify requests by calling your banker directly
Report suspicious activity immediately
